KEMAH KAT
Copyrighted by Jean Elizabeth Ward 2003

One day I sketched a cat,
Just to have something to do,
And then I colored him
With kindness
In shades of deep ocean blue.

Another day I painted him,
Looking out over the Kemah Bridge,
And then I painted him
In miniature,
And stuck him to my fridge.

I sketched him from El Jardin,
Houston, and Seabrook too,
And each time I colored him
With kindness
In shades of deep ocean blue.

He is my Kemah Kat, my Kemah Kat
With eyes
That send blessings to you.

My Kemah Kat, my Kemah Kat,
In shades of deep ocean blue;
O how he loves you.
