FEELINGS Every feeling is food for thought Like today I went out and bought Not – what I thought I would buy Though I did give it a try Ended up buying fish to fry Then I came home, sat down and cried A lovely black bird flew by He didn’t care if I cried! Heaven was waiting and the sky Then all his companions flew by Beauty doesn’t always cost After all -- I am not lost I’ve a home and my doggie girl I feel as if I own the world Not what I thought I would buy But certainly -- no reason to cry May 2007 Copyright by Jean Elizabeth Ward Starward Studio Written for my new book now in progress: Japanese Senryu Medley's Etc. THE FIRST: Pekingese I rescued has lived five years longer than they said she would; Barbara Anne is happy, however, I knew she missed having a baby; instead of breeding -- I located her a brother through www.Petfinder.com. She lost her sight five years ago, but now she follows little Brother Bob; They are adjusting very well. He growls at her mothering, and at times I see her preferring him to me. RESEARCH AND RESCUE: If you have a child who would like a pet, find one that will fit into your family. If there comes a time you cannot keep this pet give it to a rescue org.
