Poet Laureate Multimedia Artist Mandala Maker Author All poetry and prose is Copyrighted and in books available online with Barnes & Noble at www.iUniverse.com Jean Elizabeth Ward I WANT A WORLD OF BLISS Spread my wings and let me fly Up through Heavens’ bright blue sky. Spread my wings and let me soar Up through all those old closed doors. Let me fly up in the sky And see angels before I die. Let me hear them herald to me Of every thing I want to see. Let me feel their heavenly good- Freeing pain like I know they would. Let me be -- in ways unknown, Live a life that is good and long. Though sometimes sad, And sometimes confused, -- Still I desire to dream too. I dream of love beckoning to all; The good, the bad, the big, and small. I dream of ways which are unseen, Yes, I know it is important to dream, So I dream of acceptance for one and all. (If I'm free to dream, let me dream it all.) I dream of bodies racked in pain; Running free, again, and again. I dream of humans, free of pain, Free to love and to be loved again. I dream of freedom from strife, and yet, I dream of flowers like the Violet, Beautiful Roses and Forget Me Knots, And O’ my God, those Loquat - - Trees thriving in vacant lots, and Children knowing about what they've got; Freedom and being free in any country. Freedom from all hunger and disease Before they have even begun to live. I dream of open hands ready to give, Though I did-not, because I thought Teens should work for what they got; Now I am free to dream in my fall Of Seniors welcomed by us all; Ways in which--their minds can recall. Importance felt by the young and the small, With freedom from ever being defiled, And without fear of the Pedophile, Oh! The frustration to call them that, When molestation is much more than that! Free the poor who will always be Fearful of walking through life freely, Yet, before I end This-days Soaring Game I should say, thankfully, this again; I WANT A WORLD OF BLISS. I WANT A WORLD OF BLISS. Yes, a world of bliss is what I desire, I want to see that before I expire, And when I'm dead I want to soar In heaven beyond the stars, and more; I want to know, I want to know, 'cause If it is true, I will not feel fear -- to go. A world of illusions, confusion and strife, Is what I have made out of my life, Though ‘twas never my intentions in life When I was a young bride, and a good wife. I wanted to be better than the others, Better than all my other grandmothers, With desire for children who would love me; O breathe, Jean, breathe deeply; This world is naught but a game of sin. Go away, and come back again; Maybe next time I will truly be; Be what? Knock, knock, be what? O’ SOMETHING I'VE DONE FORGOT! ~~*~~ BOOK DESCRIPTION Definitions about, examples of, and easy steps to writing For the reader who desires to learn a bit more about poetry. MODERN JAPANESE SENRYU POEM I am what I am, And not what I think I am? OUCH That really hurts! |
O Just What Will my Tomorrow Bring? I’m thankful That I can’t sing. I bought That jar . . . of Hormone Cream Made with yams and I’m taking extra Vitamin C; bowling may be good for me; Slam that ball; hit those pins, O Lord What if I don’t win? I told my Friend how surprised I am- There are as many men; Old men around This town- With PMS Hot Flashes And all -- I'd think A population would be small. I’ll go on down to NASA and inquire Of them, I want to know why Hot Flashes Don’t happen to men, and how it is they can go To the moon and back, but when it comes to this they lack? Quote by Sylvia Plath MY MOTTO As a Modern Japanese Senryu Poem 'Tis better to do Something and make a mistake Than to do nothing TODAY AT THE BAY There are no rules for me, My minds in the mountains As I walk down to the sea, And stare long at the debris; Baby wipes, disposable diapers, Broken beer bottles, cigarettes and more; There is no way to enjoy this sea shore, As I sit on concrete blocks Holding my doggie girl, I tell her how beautiful Is this – her little world, And she believes me -- for she can not see; Next week we will begin to pick up the debris. That is all one woman can do, need I do more? Living here beside Galveston Bay’s ole’ sea shore. SWEET NIGHT OF GENTLE REST O’ Sweet night of gentle rest, I've done the day my very best, To all of you -- I whisper this, Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight. May blessed showers And healing mist Surround you as I whisper this, Goodnight, And from Barbara, my little dog Who's snoring as if sawing logs, But smiles radiant during the day, And if awake would surely say, Goodnight. Goodnight, Goodnight, Goodnight. |
